THE LOST YOUTH is ALEX S. YU's debut collection. The collection is inspired by two contrasting sources of inspirations. The former is the youths of East London and Montmarte, Paris. Their usages of graffitis and street arts to express their resentful feelings towards the world, the society and the government heavily inspired the collection. The latter source of inspiration is the world of the acclaimed children's books author, Dr. Seuss. The optimistic mood, naive use of colours and joyful landscapes round up the mood and colours of the collection. The collection includes holographic, stiff materials wrapped up in an optimistic, naive rose tinted glasses mood. The juxtaposition of the two contrasting mood creates the base of this collection. This collection is the official debut of ALEX S. YU as a young designer womenswear label. It showed on 17, September 2014 at Vancouver Fashion Week sponsored by Niche Magazine.
